Loving Arms - Our History

Loving Arms Personalized Care Coordination was founded out of a need personally experienced with a senior member of the family.  During this time we consistently looked for resources and help in navigating the various challenges that accompany a loved one temporarily or permanently living in a structured care facility.  Patient coordinators were only available through insurance carriers and were specific to insurance related needs.  Facility patient advocates were through the specific facility and, again, we found that their actions were facility driven.  We kept feeling there had to be a more comprehensive service or resource that kept our family member as their primary focus, but we failed to discover one, even after exhaustive searching and inquiry across multiple agencies and aging centers.

It was at this time that we started digging deep, diving into what was and was not available for families and discovered a huge void in this much needed resource.  In interviewing directors and contacts at area nursing homes, assisted living centers, group homes and home health centers it discovered that independent care management, customized to a family and their loved one’s needs, was an unknown. Something that just wasn’t available…until now.

With a background in legal advocacy and a comprehensive understanding stemming from almost 30 years of raising and living with a disabled adult dependent at home I have both professional and personal experience in care management coordination and facilitation.  It is these skills, and the wisdom gained over the years, that I bring to Loving Arms and each of our clients and their families. Our intent is for your family member to have a healthy, joyful and fulfilling life, one that is grounded in dignity and compassion. We serve as a liaison between the family member, the core family and the facility or agency staff towards ensuring the care they are receiving is personally, medically and physically supportive in alignment with their desires and needs in a caring, compassionate manner. Our involvement is specific to a client’s needs and varies from client to client. A few of the areas that we are able to assist with include: social planning, insurance coverage inquiries, researching available service need availabilities and equipment, resourcing legal representatives and assisting with hospice end of life planning.

Managing a family can be exhausting and challenging. Managing a family member who has unique and specific needs quickly becomes an unpaid, full-time job with its own set of unique challenges and rewards. When a loved one lives in a separate living environment, whether or not your 30 minutes away or live across several States, ensuring your loved one is comfortable, comfortable and having all of their needs met can be daunting. This is why Loving Arms was founded. Let us help you ensure a full life of compassion, integrity and wellness for your family member.
