Loving Arms believes in a personalized, client based approach.

Our goal is that our facilitation supports all of our clients being allowed to live a full, enjoyable life to the maximum extent possible, taking into consideration each unique need, challenge and wish. We believe that even though different living environments result in varying levels of opportunities and challenges, each environment can be supported to offer a caring, compassionate and loving living situation. Each person deserves this, including each and every one of our clients.

Each client receives a personalized plan with services outlined and determined through comprehensive communication with the client to the maximum extent they are able and their family and/or primary circle of support. Loving Arms is here to help organize, plan and facilitate. We can provide support from a very basic level to one of full oversight.

It all starts with our initial intake appointment.

At the intake appointment specific areas of need and preferences are noted. As an example, included in the primary discussions is:

  • the current living environment: what is working, what isn’t working and how can it be made more comfortable.

  • the client’s medical, mental, physical and physiological needs: what do they need, what are they getting, what do they need to get.

  • are there other services that are or should be provided and by who(m).

  • social and community preferences and inclusion: community events, shopping, time with friends.

  • family involvement: in person or electronic visitation, special events.

  • communication with the family and the primary circle of support and many others.

Based on the prior details and conversation, services through Loving Arms are identified, frequency and reporting detail is reviewed and a service contract is reviewed and signed.

FAQs

My loved one is in a facility in Tennessee, but I live out of state or out of the area. Can you still work with our family?

Absolutely! We can easily utilize video conferencing modalities for initial appointments, service reviews and large updates. Phone calls or conference calls and even texts can easily be integrated into a family’s service plan as their preferred mode of communication.

Will our loved one’s POA(s) be fully involved with all decisions? Will our family members be fully involved?

Yes. Once a copy of any POA (power of attorney) is provided to us, the contact listed will automatically be included in all relevant communications, including all updates and major care summaries. We can also include the attorney of record as requested.

Family members are critically valuable in not only creating a service plan that is maximized in its support for their loved one, but also in the successful implementation and facilitation of the client’s service plan. No decisions involving living environment placement, services received, or any medical related issue will be relayed on behalf of the family or POA until the family and/or POA(s) have provided directives to Loving Arms as to how they wish to move forward. Loving Arms only serves in the role as a facilitator. We believe that all major and important decisions be made solely by the client, their family, POA or attorney. Only once Loving Arms receives an authorized directive, will we move forward on facilitation.

Most of our family lives away from our loved one’s home. How can we stay involved?

We recommend multiple ways families can stay in touch with their loved one, and we highly encourage and support that they communicate with their loved one at least weekly! This aids in decreasing loneliness, depression and increases self-worth and the feeling of being loved and valued by family and friends.

With today’s technological opportunities, reaching out (in person) is more of an option than in previous decades. With the utilization of varying video call applications, such as Google Meet, ZOOM, Webex, Apple FaceTime, Amazon Alexa video devices and WhatsApp, we can easily have equipment set up and assist with scheduling and accessing scheduled family visits from a distance. Let’s not rule out the ease of a phone or conference call. With three way calling or utilizing a free conferencing app where more family and friends could dial in, phone conference calls are an excellent option. Finally, although it may take longer and not be received as quickly, the US Postal Service is always willing to deliver a handwritten letter, cards or other mailable momentos. Using “snail mail” often presents a wonderful and much welcomed surprise to those who are living in home communities or centers, providing something to hold and show to their nurses, staff and friends with love and pride.

Let us help support you and your loved one.
